Thursday, September 30th, 2010Audio Books’ sales are interesting for a few reasons. They are a tiny microcosm of the publishing world; a book business within the book business. In many cases, the buyer owns both book and audio book. Another type of customer is the commuter or field salesperson who lives in the car. Audio books are harder to sell than books. It’s a part of the industry that everybody believes should have gotten much bigger than it has. For an audio book to sell 100,000 copies or more is a very, very big thing. A bigger accomplishment than selling five times that many books. I view it as a supreme indication of the appeal and popularity of its subject and/or author. Master Copywriting: Learn These Three Lessons Again
Thursday, September 23rd, 2010Learn This Lesson Again: Sell Against Their Enemy

They view their own situation as me against the enemy, us against the enemy. If you want them to embrace you, take their side, take up arms with them and place yourself standing at their side, declared against their enemy.

Getting Product Done
Thursday, September 16th, 2010I am presently juggling five major copywriting jobs for clients with January and February deadlines, working hard to deliver finished manuscripts for the revised ULTIMATE books to their publisher by February 1st, getting materials from two books my agent just sold rights to, to a Japanese publisher, negotiating contracts for my next two books, writing the slightly past due autobiography/Renegade Millionaire book, still doing some promotion for recent No B.S. books and, of course, the routine workload: three newsletters, sales letters for Glazer-Kennedy, Kennedy-Lillo. Preparing for a 3-day workshop, end of this month. Then I hear somebody whine they can’t get one newsletter out each month.
