Finding Vendors That “Get It”

By Robert Skrob | October 10, 2006

The single most important piece of advice Dan Kennedy ever gave me was to let go of projects, delegate and focus only on the most important aspects of my business. While I understood the advice immediately, it was extremely difficult for me to implement.

Getting the right help is most difficult aspect of the information marketing business. As your business grows, finding vendors is a never ending process. Even when you find vendors you can trust, your growth often outstrips your vendors ability to deliver. You have to create a system for identifying, testing and evaluating vendors to help you market, create and fulfill your products and services.

In addition to the traditional vendors that you’d find in your local area, several info-marketers are successfully using freelance copywriters, ghost writers, graphic artists and virtual assistants through internet-related providers and other sources. To the uninitiated it can be extremely frustrating to get your project delivered while dealing with time zone and cultural differences. (A three week nightmare of emails and calls between a graphic designer Bangladesh, my local printer and me come to mind. I had to fire both of them and move on.)

Learn the secrets of success so you can produce more product more quickly and generate more profit for your info-business. The goal of associations is to learn from the mistakes of others. On this call you not only get the mistakes, but you also get to learn from the successes.

Here is a partial listing of the topics discussed on this call:
• Benefits of using freelance vendors.
• Where to find dependable vendors.
• How get the work done with the fewest number of questions.
• How to make sure they have the skills to get the job done right.
• How to minimize freelance vendor expenses.
• Information to include in written agreements to avoid unpleasant surprises down the road.

Your October best practices for information marketers monthly benchmarking and money-making tele-seminar has been scheduled as follows:

Special Guests: Alexandria Brown – Ali Brown, the Ezine Queen who has divided her business into 4 parts, then delegated each part to a virtual assistant that she works with over the internet. By dividing her business by the 4-indivdiaul deliverables, she was able to simplify each of the projects for the vendor. This level of specification increases the accountability and opportunity for success. In addition to the day-to-day benefits, Allie is less venerable to vendor changes than if she had one full-time assistant who could leave for another job.

Ron Ipach – Ron with CinRon Marketing is the marketing guru to the auto repair shop niche. Ron’s cracker-jack assistant was also a member of the US National Guard. When the US invaded Iraq, she was called to duty and Ron was left without anyone to help him. In the next year, Ron brought on a team of individuals to help him with different aspects of the business and his business tripled. When his assistant returned, she was reinstalled operate newly revitalized organization. Ron delegates absolutely everything he can. He works with employees, vendors, Elance vendors and others successfully every day.
