Information Marketers Visit Nassau Straw Market

By Robert Skrob | March 7, 2008

Bill Glazer of Glazer-Kennedy Insider’s Circle hosted an informal discussion on affiliate marketing. The meeting provided a lot of great ideas, I’ll give you a gem in a moment.

The Nassau straw market was an interesting experience. Walking through that hot market, with narrow isles really teaches you how lucky we are to know what we know about business. For any of the products they were selling, we could just as easly sell them over the Internet while we sat at home by our pool.

The affiliate marketing discussion was great. There was a really neat idea I wrote down about getting the attention of a VIP blogger or marketer that you’d like to work with. Here’s the process:

1. Send a sample copy of a product to a guru asking them for feedback on how they like your product.

2. When they give you their feedback, if it’s positive, use ask them if you can use thier feedback in the form of a testimonial, let them know you’ll give them a link to their site with their testimonial.

3. Then, build a sales page for your product that features their testimonial at or near the top of the page.

4. Send them a link to the specially built page along with a note inviting them to promote the page for an affiliate commission.

I plan on implementing this idea right away with my new book. I just reviewed a manuscript of it and forwarded it to the publisher today. But, more about that soon. I hope you enjoy the tip on affiliate marketing. Let me know if you get any great results using it.
