KISS Star Gene Simmons Rocks SuperConference
By Robert Skrob | April 8, 2008
While Gene Simmons is well known as the lead singer of the mega-successful rock band KISS, many don’t realize his skill in building businesses. It was Gene’s business skills that made the band, KISS into a financial success.
At the Glazer-Kennedy SuperConference, Gene revealed several business insights:
· Your most important asset is you, yourself and once you learn that you’ll make a lot more money
· Life is and has always been about the pursuit of MORE. More should be the most celebrated word in the English language
· If you think for yourself you might have fewer friends, but you’ll have a lot more cash
· The harder you work, the luckier you get
· You might not like rich people, but when was the last time a poor person gave you a job.
The SuperConference also featured George Ross. George is Donald Trump’s most trusted advisor and made several appearances in the show, The Apprentice. George talked about negotiations. One of the many lessons I learned from George was the lack of fear George has in making demands. George confidently asks for discounts, concessions and compromises from his adversaries without any self-imposed obligation to give consideration for that demand. I think it’s easy to ‘negotiate against yourself’ by giving concessions for the sake of being reasonable. I know I’ve always worried about this.
The SuperConference featured several other sessions;
· Lee Milteer gave strategies for entrepreneurs to achieve peak peakformance with less stress
· Yanik Silver talked about ways to make money on the Internet
· Adam Witty gave strategies for business owners to use books as a marketing vehicle
· Barry Shamis presented his system for hiring the best employees
· Dan Janel presented his strategies for posting articles on the Internet to generate traffic to your website.
As good as the program was, the real benefit happens in the hallway. I had the opportunity to meet with a lot of members and future members of the Information Marketing Association. Plus, I met with my publisher, Entrepreneur Press and agreed to provide 2 more books to them this year, these two are scheduled to be published Summer 2009. (This means I’ll prepare and deliver 4 books to my publisher this year.)
All this, plus SuperConference gave me the opportunity to catch up with friends. I’ve been attending so many years I know hundreds of people at the event. Most, I only see each year at the SuperConference.
I’ve already booked to attend the 2009, Glazer-Kennedy SuperConference, the dates are April 22-26, 2009. Make your plans to attend and I’ll see you there.

Excuse This Intrusion
Usually I only comment on SEO blogs, topics like keyword research and how to geo-target keywords, but anyways there was something about your posts that intrigued me. That’s it. Have a nice day. Ron Jacobs.

Rob,
What is the difference between IMA Members Club and the ‘other’ one you and I have discussed that offers Glazer’s A-Z as a bonus?
Thanks,
Mike

Robert,
Will the conference be in Nashville TN again?
August 5th, 2008 at 10:16 AM
Probably not. Glazer Kennedy is working with several hotels right now to find the best option for the event. However, I do know who the keynote speaker is and you’ll be totally blown away when it’s announced.

Hello Robert,
It’s a good point you make about negotiating against yourself.
There’s no harm in asking for more and often much to be gained.

Hey Robert. You put that well: “I think it’s easy to ‘negotiate against yourself’ by giving concessions for the sake of being reasonable.”
However in this situation a business person is often only complying or acceeding to the other party’s definition of reasonable and forgetting their own.

I recently saw a podcast of Stuart Wilde back in the 80′s giving a seminar on money and how to attract it into your life: Living and projecting abundance instead of living and projecting lack.
He highlights that the limitiations that most people have around money are self-imposed through their own beliefs.
He also shows how by providing personal heartfelt service and believing in your own value, you can demand and get higher prices for what you’re selling.
Reading your post reminded me of this seminar because there seem to be some shared universal truths.

Thanks for the heads up on the conference dates. Gene Simmons is looking good for his age. I think I might start exploring a bit more of what that rock n roll lifestyle can do for me!
