Skrob Family Visits America’s Top Beach

On Thursday, May 22nd coastal expert Dr. Stephen Leatherman (Dr. Beach) named Caladesi Island State Park in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area America’s Top Beach for 2008. Two other Florida beaches honored by Leatherman this year include third-ranked Siesta Beach, near Sarasota, and ninth-ranked Cape Florida State Park in Key Biscayne, near Miami.
On Saturday, May 24th, the Skrob Family paid a visit to Caladesi Island to begin our Memorial Day Weekend. It was a great place. 
You arrive at the island via ferry. There is a nice restaurant, restrooms and changing area. The beach is in it’s natural condition, yet wide and large. Plus, there is a nature trail for the adventurous.
I spent most of the time under an umbrella reading two books. However, I did get out and boogie board with the kids for an hour or so.
I hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend. Spend some time honoring the people who lost their lives to create the wonderful country we enjoy. We are privileged to have the business opportunities we have because of their sacrifice. Then, spend some time enjoying the outdoors with your family.
